While I generally don’t think of film music and video game music as being classical, isn’t the choice of intended venue, purpose, and audience a weak justification for that position.

Do you think that’s a valid justification? why?

Try a thought experiment and ask yourself if these exact same pieces were presented in a concert hall as classical and you had no knowledge of what they were written for how would you react?

I am not certain what she likes but I know she is from a town called Dalian and likes classical music and finds Hello Kitty funny. She is a Chemical Engineering Major. I was thinking of throwing her a party but she mentioned Chinese culture does not really encourage doing that to celebrate success on a major exam. I am looking in the 20-50$ Range. Any thoughts?

I don’t know if it’s called Baroque, or whatever, but today I was listening to a Mozart station on Last.fm and a Beethoven song followed by a Brahms song came on that gave me chills. It wasn’t the stupid upbeat classical, but really slow and haunting. Does anyone know other songs or any way to find more of this kind of music?

Mine was Mozart and my piano teacher…a few years back. I’m glad I converted.
