What is the difference between an (opera/classical music) afficionado and a snob?

Teresa H asked:

One reason cited for not liking classical music or opera is the preponderance of “snobs.” For example, people listing comments on Paul Potts’ You Tube website are thrilled to be “showing up opera snobs.” Where does this come from? And what delineates an afficionado [an ardent fan] from a snob?
Chameleon [or "smart aleck" as you are coming to be known] “afficionado” is an accepted variant of “aficionado” — see Merriam Webster Dictionary online at http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary. So CUT IT OUT.

I am looking for a place with a jazz club type of atmosphere but more classical or with pianos. Preferably near Pittsburgh or generally in western Pennsylvania. I am not really sure if a place like this exists but I’d be thrilled if there was!

I love this piece of music and it is not on the soundtrack. It is played during the scene after Kristin Dunst and Jason Shwartzman are married and they have their first dance. It must be from the Baroque period.

All my friends think I’m weird, I really like classical and really don’t often like hard rock or rap. How about you?
