I know very little about the genre. I mainly listen to jazz, but I appreciate (almost) all genres of music.
I never listen to classic fm (radio station), because it tenses me when they play those songs with the whole orchestra going on and on (it’s almost as noisy as emo screamo). I prefer simple songs with a lot of audible piano.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

It needs to play quietly in the background as people tell about the impact of various global events. The speaking is accompanied by a slideshow with several pictures.
Does anyone know any classic compositions that would be a nice complement for my presentation?
Thank You

In the movie Harold & Maude, there is a scene where Harold’s mother is swimming, and a classical piano piece is playing. What is that piece?

How were the symphonies as of Beethoven’s meant to be performed to the audience? Were they accompanied by dramas or dance etc ? and the performers would give a break between the different movements ?

and 7 years later wants to start back up again? How much success have you had? I played the oboe which any classical musician knows is hard…making the reeds and all that. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from big name schools. I had done pretty well for myself but burned out taking orchestral auditions…oh, and the money wasn’t there for them, either. As any classical SYMPHONIC musician knows it’s expensive to take auditions. I have not even owned an oboe for the whole 7 years. But now I miss it and want to start again…this time with less lofty, more practical, ambitions…settling for gigs and students where I can get them, etc. instead of the oh-so-ellusive orchestra job. Although, I would like to know if an orchestral job is even still possible with such a big huge ‘blank’ on my resume…7 years worth. I’ve been in sales since then. This is probably a small demographic on yahoo answers but thought I would check you guys out anyway to see. Thoughts???

I have a school project where we have to get a piece of classical music and map it out (mapping). I need a piece with a lot of clarity. I am not musically gifted at all, so the simpler the song, the better. Thank You!!!
