I’m assuming if you are in this section you listen to classical. Who was the composer that you initially listened to? Or who was the person, thing that brought you into it?

Mine was Mozart and my piano teacher…a few years back. I’m glad I converted.

What pieces of classical/medieval music are examples of medieval the Dorian musical mode?

Have you any examples of classical/medieval music that specifically use the medieval Doric (or Dorian) musical mode. Wikipedia quote only Beethoven in his Missa Solemnis during the credo, does anyone know any others, the more the better! There are plenty of modern examples, but I am specifically searching for classical and even better medieval examples. Thank you for your help

I love Nobuo Uematsu. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve heard of Vanessa Mae so far. I do enjoy classical classical music, but I’m not in love with it as much as the more modern orchestral music that fuses the classic style with other genres of music. I don’t really know the name of it.

I’ve always wanted to check out classical music. I tried to like it but i couldn’t. I tried the old 18th century stuff. I didn’t like it. I even tried some Yngwie Malmsteen (because I listen to a lot of classic rock and heavy guitar oriented rock). I didn’t like it much either. Any suggestions guys?
